The grüner Veltliner grape is especially good for eiswein making. Because of this variety’s thick skin, the grapes can hang on the vines for a very long time without any damage occurring. According to the Austrian wine law the grapes must be frozen naturally and can only be harvested at a minimum temperature of minus 7°C.
Eiswein from Grüner Veltliner are not often found in Burgenland, but with the fresh ripeness and poise of this wine, you wonder why. It has a great lift to it from the fresh acidity and the ripe apple, pepper and some mint flavor. This beautifull eiswein is an ideal companion to strong cheese or a wide variety of fruity desserts.
